Personally Gilchrist is a very honest likeable sports person. In a critical world cup match against Sri Lanka, he walked back to the dressing room despite the fact that the umpire had not given him out. Though it created a lot of controversies Gilchrist feels that Sportsmanship is more important than winning or anything else.
