Star Sign : - Adam Gilchrist was born to Stan and June Gilchrist on November 14, 1971. Adam Gilchrist's family had four children out of which, he was the youngest. During his young age, he wanted to be the fastest bowler in the world, only till he saw a pair of shining wicket keeping gloves on the shelf of a sporting shop. That glove was Adam's Christmas present that year, 1981, and it was the start of his wicketkeeper career. As a young cricketer he wanted to be in everything and whatever he did, he did it well. It was that intention that has made him to excel in all his roles in the international cricket. Interestingly, Gilchrist is also an author. His book Walking To Victory reveals more of his personal life and his experiences during the 2003 World Cup, both on and off the field. Once when asked about his controversial dismissal in the Match against Sri Lanka in that world cup, Gilchrist said, In this day of professionalism and commercialism maybe it's not so easy to let it (sportsmanship) come out. Gilchrist is married to Melinda Sharpe and they have a son named Harry.
