Mathew Hayden stretching it out in a practice session. He was dropped after 13 games and a year into his one-day international career and had to wait a further six years for a second chance. However, when the opportunity came he made no mistake and has since become a fixture in the one-day set up. That second coming came in February 2000 and Hayden's average is almost double the 26 he notched over his first 13 outings.
