A fighter to the core, Walsh with his gentle smile on the face can prove dangerous on any kind of a pitch. A cricketer with rare temperament for a bowler, Walsh has always played the game in true cricketing fashion. One cannot forget the West Indies-Pakistan World cup match of 1987. Salim Jaffer was on the runner end and he started running even before the ball was delivered. Walsh could have easily had him run out. But for Walsh his ethics of the game was more important than victory. Pakistan won the match that day, yet at the end of the day everyone knew that Cricket and Walsh's true sportsmanship had won.
